I disagree, your point doesn't seem to make a difference to whether or not male gender identity actually exists.To break it down think of it like this:

  1. Male as in men,
  2. Gender is masculinity or femininity, essentially characteristics associated with men and women.
  3. Identity is who we are, this is sometimes affected more by what we think we are sometimes more than what we are.

In other words in order for the male gender identity to exist, we only need to think it does and most people do therefore it exists.
