My daughter just graduated from high school with top honors. At the same time she earned 3 associates degrees from community college which was affiliated with her high school. She has been accepted to one of the top colleges in the US and was given scholarships for all of the tuition. We are on the hook for room and board, books, etc. Total cost per year is about $20K. Would have been closer to $90K without the scholarships so she did good there. She wants to study environmental science/marine biology.
My brother's daughters had to pay their own way through college even though he earns a lot more than we do. They probably have over $100K in student loan debt now just starting out. I do not want my daughter to have that hanging around her neck. I'm pretty sure we can swing the $20K between tax returns, my commissions, and just plain cutting back a bit and saving.
Just wondering what others have done in similar circumstances.

We really didn't want them to start out life with $200K in college debt. Like I know some people have, that's ridiculous.
