Petty tyrants who feel no obligation or responsibility to the community they "serve".
Most people who enter politics are looking for power. And when they exert that power without push back or repercussions they behave even more tyrannical.
Checks and balances, and fear, keep them in line. Too many people leave civility behind when they don't feel afraid of consequences.
