I have been thinking about this since seeing it on the news earlier today. People are raising money to have Cuddle Cots at hospitals so that people can spend time with their dead babies. The Cot runs cold water through a pad so they don't have to go to the morgue right away and parents can bathe, take photos, or generally bond with their dead baby.
Am I the only one that finds this disturbing? I've never gone through it myself, but I can't imagine wanting to do such a thing. Once someone is dead it doesn't seem to me that they are there any longer so you aren't comforting them. The website talks about how this is psychologically a positive experience for parents. Any thoughts?
