Meats regularly get cooked at temperatures that will kill most pathogens. Fruits and vegetables don't. I believe listeria won't die from cooking temperatures but that particular pathogen us mostly associated with factory processed foods.

Hamburger is notorious for harboring food borne pathogens. Just get that burger cook thoroughly. Same with you chicken.

Hamburger is not particularly dangerous as meats go. Primary danger of beef is parasites same with pork. Situation easily remedied by eating some diatamous earth every now and then. Chicken is dangerous because e. Coli and salmonella can survive on anything and can contaminate a whole food chain/ processing area.
