I've been working on an HTML5 game that procedurally generates planets (and eventually more) in space. It's still in it's infancy, but you can see it randomly generate the planets in the demo:

Controls are W, A, S, D and the mouse

You can zoom in and out using the mousewheel or scrolling up and down

Pretty cool, too bad I can't see when a planet is coming when I am at full speed lol.

You should let the arrow keys also rotate, that way I don't have to move the mouse at all :D

Thanks!

Yea, eventually when you spawn you will start on your own little planet, and can take off from there. Did you try zooming in and out with your mousewheel?

I've tried plenty of versions of this style of game and every one that used the keys to rotate I ended up disliking. This is a kind of a throwback to the game Continuum (which I used to play a lot when I was younger) and it has similar style controls. It's usually fast paced and my game will require navigating menus/etc with the mouse so it's not going anywhere.

Thanks for the CC however! Never hurts to get another set of eyes on it :)

I have always been interested in procedural generation of content, especially landscapes. It has always been somewhat difficult to find information. I hope this helps people.
