boeing douglas merge

Related doc from a couple or years ago (not including the current boing fuckups)

tl;dr:

company jumped the shark after the merge

no innovations, just squeezing out the last nickel of the (former) good reputation

outsource everything

cheap workers drink, smoke weed etc. during work, say they won't fly themselves with the crap they're duct taping together

Don't get me started on the airline industry and imcompetent/overtired/underpaid pilots. I tend to fly flagship airline with ex-military pilors… when I have to at all.

LSAS actually worked, all crashes were due to pilots not used to high landing speeds and the dc-10s tendency to bounce off at landing.

Although I doubt McDonnell outsourced it to Indians.
