Problems with taking pharmaceutical drugs, illegal drugs, or drinking to "feel better"
Focusing on false happiness gained by becoming intoxicated makes you even more depressed in the long run because you become sick with the dishonesty and artificiality of it all
Using fake happiness as an opportunity to create true meaning to give you the strength to crawl out of a pit of depression is like taking illegal steroids to get big muscles.
If you need to be drugged to find some kind of meaning, That's evidence that you couldn't find any meaning in the first place. (Which is why you are depressed) You're not broken. You're being honest with yourself about the fact that the world around you is broken. Bad environment-Bad feelings. Naturally! If you are depressed, you are having a healthy reaction to an unhealthy world. It's not your fault. The world is just a bad place full of bad people. You probably feel bad, because you are a good person in a bad place. You are better than everyone else because you actually realized what was going on. You observed the world around you and came to the conclusion that it's a bad place faster than everyone else. You are a good seed that can't grow into a good tree because you are in bad soil. Pushing pills on depressed people is like throwing the night watchman in jail for spotting a burglar or yelling at the canary in the coal mine for getting poisoned by the gas. It's literal victim blaming. People are being treated as the main criminals in the cause of their own depression and thrown under the bus and ignored. Nobody seems to take all of these sad people as a warning flag for the state wellbeing of not just their country, but of the whole world. If all these people are so sad and miserable, there must be a very big reason. The world we live in is sick, and depressed people (among the many other people with other problems) are just a symptom. So yet again, the pharmaceutical companies are perpetually treating the symptom of the disease for endless profit, and nobody cares to find the root causes of the problems we all face. Nobody wants to make a cure.
What's the difference between a person on antidepressants and a meth addict?
The meth addict admits the world around them is bad
Tell me something- If taking drugs and antidepressants doesn't actually make the world around you become a better place, Is it actually making your own self a worse place so that you don't notice the difference anymore?
People don't take drugs or drink to make their problems go away, People take drugs or drink so that they can forget and lie to themselves about the problems they can't fix.
If most of these drugs have side effects including increased risk of suicidal thoughts, It's no wonder at all! Being dishonest with yourself makes you feel sick to your stomach.
It is Bad to feel Good about being in a Bad place.
The truth is that just like eating unhealthy junk makes the body fat or sick, experiencing a junky and unhealthy experience around us makes our soul feel sick.
You are not broken, WE are not broken, but rather the world around us is broken.
"It is no measure of good health to conform to an ill society."
