Extract of Willow Bark or Meadwort as well as denying the area to "breath" is the old European trick of ridding warts. The Knight in Chaucer's Tale always carries Meadwort, its important to know the usage of what grows in the Heath.
By modern understanding those plants contain Salicylic Acid which irritates the skin causing the correct immune response and its not the preventing of "inhaling" which rots the wart but denying its ability to "exhale" which causes its waste to build up and the process to stop, nowadays a piece of duct tape can do this.

I had a wart under my right foot & put
raw frankincense & Myrrh under the
insole & in time the wart disappeared,
possibly if the wart is on your hand
put a jar of raw frankincense & myrrh
in a jar of oil to diffuse in the jar of oil
& use this to moisturize your hands,
maybe that might be enough exposure
to make the warts on hands go away,
