is aslan a demiurge?

The lion is the traditional king of beasts and is the symbol of a creator god.

The demiurge's appearance is a symbol that is meant to express his nature.

He is portrayed as a snake with a lion's head. The lion's head is how he presents himself to the world, but he is faced away from his serpent body showing that he is unaware of his own true nature because he does not have Gnosis.

However gnosticism has no formalized tradition like Catholicism because it was brutally eradicated and there exist many different schools of thought.

It should be noted that Lewis thought of Aslan as an incarnation of Christ and that Christ in Gnostic thought was sent by the Monad to liberate humanity. So he opposes the Demiurge.

Some of the more pessimistic thinkers in gnosticism however believe that Christ's mission failed and that we are now all trapped for all eternity.
