To start myself off, I am doing 4 sets of 10 squats using two ten pound dumbells. I know it's not much, but is it a good start?

Yeah lad it's a good start. When i started off gym training 6 years ago I used to do sets of 15 squats with no weight at all, lmao. I was a skeleton. Now I can do deadlifts with 330 pounds.
