May you guys help me out? I’m in tons of distress. My brothers are gay and one of them still lives in the house with us. I’m worried if he has some type of STD/illness/disease/health complication that he can spread to us (like using the same toilet). I’m not saying he has something, but I’m getting tons of thoughts of “what if?” What should I do and how do I know if he has something? How can I voice my concerns to the rest of my family? I’m thinking about using the bathroom in our basement, since he never uses it. I can’t move out and I can’t convince my parents to kick him out (they’re both libertine boomers).

<side note: I read that diseases like STDs can’t live outside the body, which means that you can’t catch them from toilets. Is this true and does this mean I’m safe in any way?

Would be a good precaution. Make some shit up about liking it more for privacy if you have to. If you have to talk to your parents about your brother and STDs, don't mention anything about gayness, just talk about how many partners he has and the risks involved.

don’t mention his gayness

It may be too late for that. They know my views on homosexuality
