Patrick Casey was friends with many of the ideologically weak people who outnumbered, policed and then ousted the few remaining Fascists in IE. He turned an organization which wasn't great but still participated in activism, into a group of ineffective shut-ins who's only presence was posting a couple of flyers every once in a while and having private parties.

I also suspect that Casey massively watered down the original vetting process because antifa were able to infiltrate their Discord which under original protocols would be impossible.

Under Patrick Casey, members who were doxed were viewed as a liability and thus were blamed instead of helped when their information got leaked.

Many of these people who later became 'Casey-ists' would talk about and discuss how it's better optics to get beat up by Antifa in order to have conservatives 'sympathize' with you than to fight back and risk looking violent. They also took turns mocking TWP and any other group for getting into physical confrontations with leftists and for not looking pretty. These individuals who were once a fringe portion of IE ended up becoming Patrick Casey's inner circle and controlled their discourse.

Hmm so it's like the other anon said, a gayer version of Amren; the masonic organisation that did nothing for 20 years and never grew beyond a few boomers.
