For the fourth time in about a month, Trump suggested increasing legal immigration levels. With Apple CEO Tim Cook sitting next to him at the White House on Wednesday, Trump said he not only wanted more legal immigration but that companies needed an expansion of new arrivals to grow their business.
“We’re going to have a lot of people coming into the country. We want a lot of people coming in. And we need it,” Trump said:
"It’s not a question of do we want more immigration, these folks are going to have to sort of not expand too much. And if we tell them … these are very ambitious people around this table. They don’t like the concept of not expanding. We want to have the companies grow and the only way they’re going to grow is if we give them the workers and the only way we’re going to have the workers is to do exactly what we’re doing."
The comments are a direct rebuttal of the president’s commitments in 2015, 2016, and 2017, where he vowed to reduce overall legal immigration levels to boost the wages of U.S. workers and reduce the displacement of America’s working and middle class.
In 2017, for instance, Trump touted Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Sen. David Perdue’s (R-GA) RAISE Act legislation, which would have cut legal immigration down to about 500,000 arrivals a year rather than the current admission of more than one million legal immigrants annually who compete against working-class Americans for jobs.
Trump, at the time, said legal immigration levels needed to be trimmed to “reduce poverty, increase wages, and save taxpayers billions and billions of dollars,” arguing that the current importation of more than a million legal immigrants every year “has placed substantial pressure on American workers, taxpayers, and community resources.”

Getting to speak to a lot of business owners you'll hear one thing repeated over and over again; "they can't find enough young Americans willing to work."
And when they do they do a lousy job, often don't show-up for work, are often late, and have a hard time staying off their i-phones.
Fact is we've raised a nation of self-indulgent imbeciles that are victims of comfort. And this is forcing companies to look elsewhere. So you can't hardly blame Trump for a problem we've created.
But it doesn't matter. We've got even bigger problems. Beyond the fact that the immigrants will vote to bring-in socialist programs, A-I Robotics will soon put them out of work too. And for a short time corporations will make a lot of money until such time that there is no one with a job to buy the products the robots make.
What happens then you really don't want to be around to see. And if you are, most likely won't be around long anyway.
Point is idiots, MILLENNIALS ARE NOT WORKING

lol, I just finished working a six month position at a major grocery chain literally pulling 11 hour shifts regularly, all with degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis causing enormous pain for every second of it. All of this was for the wonderful price of about 9.00 an hour, after tax. I don't know a single person my age who ISN'T working 45+ hours of skullfuck drudgery just to make ends meet, regardless of their education, general intelligence or work ethic. Every single one is living with roomies or parents. Every single one is in poor health. Every single one hardly has a drop of savings. Every single one is overworked to the point where they're developing chronic health issues.
In all honesty, millennials are almost crazy to work in this shitty, broken, soon to brown-and-flushed system.

Can confirm. People don't want to do the jobs that are paying. I smile when I hear anyone saying they can't find a job or they put in hundreds of applications.
Want a six figure job? I can introduce you to an independent cabinet maker, a pipeline welder, a tanker driver and a paper mill worker - all making six figures. That's just off the top of my head.
This stuff pays well because nobody who's willing to do that kind of work can just show up on time, do the work and pass a drug test. It's sad really.

If you can't find enough people to work, you have to increase the pay. Immigration is a way for owners to pay less than the job should.
