C is a 50 year old language

Magnetism was first described about 600 BCE. Electricity around 2750 BCE. Today, electricity and magnetism are outdated.

No, the correct analogy would be saying that our understanding of what magnetism was in 600 BCE and our understanding of what electricity was in 2750 BCE are outdated.

What advances could have happened in our "understanding" of the C language? Or, perhaps more to your point, what advantages do other languages have over C? Efficiency and tidyness of the source code? Efficiency of the compiled program? Functions that are completely impossible on C?

I think an even better analogy still is comparing it to mathematics, which has not changed in syntax in centuries.
