All this does is make people on the right look bad. It’s all over the news today that he was involved in a right wing extremists group. Even if they find out they were duped into this false narrative I don’t see the news telling everyone that they were wrong. They’ll just double down and keep going with it because it helps make right wingers look bad. And it just so happens the house is looking at a bill to start combating right wing extremists because they are supposedly the most dangerous domestic threat to the U.S.

I 100% agree. Truth matters. Bullshit and chaos have their place, but they build nothing. Nobody will remember the retractions.

When do they do retractions?

Exactly. Most won't hear the retractions because it will be hidden. The rest won't care because it doesn't fit their agenda. Shitloads of idiots today heard that this guy is a right wing extremist with ties to a right wing supremacist group. To the idiots it doesn't matter that he's not white and it doesn't matter that it doesn't make sense. It just fits the agenda to demonize white people and take our guns away. And guess what gun he used..... Surprise, surprise an AR-15! I'd be fucking amazed if there was a retraction at all. No one will notice the Antifa comment and the fact that he's actually a left wing extremist. That truth just got buried under a pile of bullshit by some dumb ass trolls. Kek!

That's true to a degree, but the more we can discredit leftwing media, the better. If we manage to get them saying things that are totally off-the-wall (racist frog etc) it helps our cause in the long run.

But we have to remember to spread the retraction ourselves to remind people how off the wall the MSM is.

Don’t let them use white nationalism against us

The problem is the people who actually believe this shit and will completely look over a retraction because it doesn't fit their agenda. And what if they never hear the retraction. I'm sure they won't blast that all over the radio like they did today about the right wing extremist affiliation. I was listening to a talk radio station today at work, it's owned by FOX and they were playing news briefs all day on how this guy had ties to a white supremacist group in Florida. This just gives the idiots out there more fuel for the fire. Truth doesn't matter to them. The news said it so it must be true. We have democrats trying to pass a bill on monitoring right wing hate speech, which is anything they don't like basically. They actually used the ADL and SPLC for the statistics on right wing terrorism. We are dealing with idiots and a lot of them.

It isn't hard to troll them when they are in a race to be first.

Even if they retract the story the damage has been done

This was a mistake. Now they have an excuse to brand white nationalists terrorists, hundreds of thousands of people saw the story, and a large percentage will not see the retraction. This was a bad idea

Technically, great MEDIAOPS, but I would change to content to either dogwhistle (make it obvious to anyone but the media that it's fake) or to paint the shooter as a totally contradictory avatar (i.e. white supremacist after reading Andrea Dworkins work or something like that).
