The legs ARE the first to go. At my advanced age (50 plus) I've been hampered in my training by having a tear of the "adductor magnus" a muscle that runs from the pelvis to the knee. Undergoing physio until February in the new year and then finally back to the gym.

Stay flexible - step one of fitness past 40.
