Hernandez advised Detectives that he had spoken with God, who told him to strike down his girlfriend because she did not repent. Hernandez stated that he struck her down, and caused her head to be removed from her body. He then quoted two bible verses to Investigators, from Timothy Chapter 2 and the book of Revelations. Each of the verses that were quoted had passages in them that spoke about women who did not follow God’s word, so God struck them down.
Hernandez told Investigators that in the morning, God told him to strike her down. He also advised investigators that he had given Cons a chance to repent, but she did not. According to court documents, Hernandez told Investigators that he had to pray for forgiveness because he initially questioned God’s decision for him to strike her down. Hernandez stated that “God works in mysterious ways and that he has to believe and not question God’s Will.” -- http://www.skagitbreaking.com/2018/08/29/disturbing-details-emerge-in-mount-vernon-homicide-case/
Edit: After the murder the killer went to, where else but the Cascade Mall. Wouldn't anyone? Oh, but this mall was the site of a mass murder on Sept 23, 2016:
Surveillance video shows Cetin shooting a teenage girl near some clothing racks and then shooting a man. He then headed for the cosmetics section where he shot two women who were hugging and trembling in front of the counter and one who was trying to hide behind it.
Cetin left the [.22 cal] rifle with a 25-round magazine on a cosmetics counter before fleeing, police said in court documents. The victims ranged from a 16-year-old girl to a woman in her 90s and included a probation officer and a Boeing maintenance worker. -- https://www.king5.com/article/news/crime/cascade-mall-shooting-suspect-arcan-cetin-dies-in-jail/281-431870782
Edit 2: That area is no stranger to mass murder. On Sept 2, 2008 this happened:
A man shot and killed a sheriff’s deputy and five other people, and wounded two more, during a shooting rampage near his rural home and a high-speed chase along Interstate 5 Tuesday afternoon. The suspect, 28-year-old Isaac Zamora of Alger, has a criminal record and a history of mental problems and had been living in the woods. He ended the violent rampage and ensuing high-speed chase when he turned himself in Tuesday afternoon at the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office. -- https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/skagit-county-shooting-spree-leaves-6-dead-including-sheriffs-deputy-2-injured/
Edit 3: Ok, check this out on the 2008 incident:
“I’ll sign,” Zamora told Gilbert. Then he said, “I kill for God. I listen to God.” It was the first time Zamora has spoken during two court appearances; the first was Wednesday when he was ordered held for the slayings of six people, including Skagit County sheriff’s Deputy Anne Jackson. -- https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/skagit-county-murder-spree-suspect-i-kill-for-god/
Edit 4: The 2016 incident was committed by Arcan Cetin who was born in Turkey and immigrated to the US where he got in trouble a lot for acting like he was born in Turkey. Check out this description of his state when he was arrested:
Lt. Chris Cammock of the Oak Harbor Police Department said at a press conference announcing Cetin’s arrest that the suspect was “kind of zombie-like” when he was taken into custody. He didn’t attempt to run from arresting officers. Officials had received numerous tips about the suspect. Lt. Michael Hawley of the Island County Sheriff’s Office added that shortly after he received a report that Cetin was close, Hawley found the suspect walking on the street. -- https://heavy.com/news/2016/09/arcan-cetin-cascade-mall-burlington-washington-shooting-suspect-shooter-name/
Edit 5: The Cascade Mall shooting was in 2016, not 2017. Fixed.
