You can buy about 100 feet of filament with those savings. That's enough to print a 3Dbenchy and then come to terms with the fact that you have an expensive and frustrating new hobby.

Meh, I run a cheap Chinese printer (wanhao) and it was actually pretty good out of the box. Some mods have helped a bunch, but what fun is a hobby if you just pull something out of a box and it works perfectly? (Same question for drone pilots that spend thousands on prebuilt machines)

Solving problems, and building things yourself, are fun (and rewarding)
