Whats the best canceled tv series that I need to watch? submitted by tapeman to AskVoat

If you truly believe that, then you are truly going to miss out on so many more suggestions further down in this post. It's close-minded speech like that that gives us browncoats a bad image.

If anyone is interested in science fiction, then the writing, casting, and acting in both Firefly and Serenity are simply top notch. The storylines are solid, and still very human, even in the sci-fi setting. It's got action and intrigue, with just enough humor to keep it from getting overly tense. This series had everything going for it, except the advertising.

For those not interested in sci-fi, it may not be their cup of tea, but it's still worth trying in my mind. At the same time, those who aren't sci-fi fans may have had very similar experiences with other shows I haven't seen. These are not wrong answers, just other answers. I've seen quite a few of these other suggestions come up before, and may be trying one or two soon, if I have the time. I may not have naturally gone out to watch something like Arrested Development or My Name is Earl on my own, but if others see similar qualities in them that I see in Firefly, of course I'll try it.

Finally, as your comment is designed to discourage conversation on any other suggestion in this post, it is not beneficial to the conversation. That is why I'm downvoating you.

Street Fighter V is out on Steam. More than half of the reviewers are displeased. submitted by profanion to gaming

I truly feel that competitive fighting games have the hardest time on PC than other platforms. (The rest is a rant. Read at your own risk.)

First off, to be "competitive", they must have complete parity between platforms. The XBone and PS4 versions should run at the same framerate, with the same feel for the controls (no platform should feel like they have "input lag" against the other) so that during competitions, any player can play on any platform without using the platform as an excuse. There are more areas for parity, but those are two simple ones.

At the same time, the "PC Master Race" mentality causes trouble with those needs for full parity. Users are reporting that the resolution is less than 1080p, and locked at 60 FPS max, with the game speed tied to framerate. This decision was probably made for parity across all three platforms. The consoles were probably only capable of running the game at 60 FPS at 720P, so that was the standard they decided on. While this goes against the "PC Master Race" attitude, it makes the PC version equal to the console versions, for competitive play. (You may also notice that there is PC/PS4 cross-competitive play online. Also proof that decisions were made for parity)

Not including DirectInput, causing PS4 arcade sticks to not work, on launch is a separate mistake that they seem to plan on resolving, but it's another black mark separate from my argument.

It seems that the only two options for fighting games are to dissappoint the PC Master Race, or to sacrifice parity, damaging the competitiveness of their game. The third option is for the PC platform to stop getting competitive fighters altogether, which I don't think anyone wants. I feel that this is a lose-lose situation, with there always being a group who is unhappy with the game.

(One major issue that could result in the PC release being the platform that competitive players practice on is that the gameplay is [reportedly] locked to the framerate. Anyone with a beefy enough computer could force the game to run at a higher framerate, causing the gameplay to be quicker. Practicing at 75 FPS would increase gameplay by 25%, making gameplay at 60 FPS feel slower, giving them an edge during tournaments. If Capcom stopped the practice of locking gameplay to framerate, they could at least unlock the framerate on PC, helping the PC Master Race people, and preventing people with a certain platform from have an edge during practice.)

Why I Had to Buy My Wife's Inhaler on the Dark Web submitted by leetdood to news

This is an idea I never had. I am also an asthmatic, who has been off his maintenance inhaler for months due to my previous insurance still costing me $200 a month for it, while without insurance, it's closer to $270. Thanks for posting this article.

Could /v/givemeccp be considered voat manipulation? submitted by Arotaes_Forgehammer to AskVoat

theoridgeinal 1 points -1 points (+0|-1) ago

The issue is that once they hit 100 CCP total, no matter where from, they get the ability to downvoat, and this manipulating of the system makes it happen much quicker, meaning that people who have not truly "participated in the conversation" of voat as a whole now have the ability to downvoat.

I would have hoped that the official US mammal would have been something that the American people truly cared about, and wanted to see survive the ages:

Humanity.

Instead, we care more about some alternative to burger meat over our own species.
