Fathers typically don't have the luxury of spending large amounts of time with the kids. A mothers job is to 'build up' dad while he's gone and never speak ill of him to anyone. submitted by Empress to TraditionalWives

Exactly!

Too many women bitch and moan about their husbands not doing enough. I hear it from acquaintances, and even in passing conversations. I don't understand how that became an acceptrable conversation topic, especially considering how women would react if they heard men talking candidly about THEIR shortcomings.

Once I became a stay-at-home mom, I was super jealous of my husband getting out of the house for 8+ hours a day. It made me feel resentful, because I'm a workaholic. Finally, I challenged myself to say at least 3 times a day out loud how thankful I am to have my husband work so hard and sacrifice family time so we can live the life we live. A little over a year later, I genuinely feel it, and it even rubbed off on our daughter. She gave my husband a big hug the other week and thanked him for being an amazing provider.

As a result, I feel like the family runs more smoothly, and even though I miss him just as much and get just as lonely, it makes him coming home after his shift all the more sweet and I can tell he genuinely enjoys coming home to us.

So. This was the most anticlimactic response I could get. I feel like he was backtracking a lot, and glossing over what he said in the actual sermon.

How slippery and disappointing.

Pretty much what I was thinking.

He was "an evil white male", and since he's dead, they can say he had whatever agenda fits their narrative.

6 inch pan usually means the diameter of the pan. In this case it looks like the circumference is 6".

If I ordered a 6 inch pan and got this, I'd be pissed. Since a fat got that, I think it's probably a sign from God to cut the portion sizes. 😂

I am so sorry that you are going through that, and honestly I can completely understand why you would feel the way you do. A lot if men (especially the ones who have weak characters) take advantage of women's devotion, regardless if the women work or are SAHMs. Add peer pressure or financial instability to that and there definitely is a recipe for failure.

In my opinion, being a "traditional wife" isn't for everyone. I was happy working with my husband in the same kitchen for 8 years, but once we got married and little ones started coming, we both knew something had to give. It was hard for me to quit my career, but I found my pace as a homemaker... eventually!

Our situation works well because I can still contribute financially via rent from a property I own and get rent from, and he still comes home and helps take care of the children despite working 60 hours a week. We do it because we WANT to, and it works for us. If things were different, who knows what might happen.

Anyways, I guess I'm just saying that I'm sorry you got dealt a shitty hand, and I understand why you seem so jaded, but the situation is different for everyone. A traditional wife needs a traditional husband or it wouldn't work, and good vetting is a part of that. I hope that you find peace in your situation.
