If you walk up to a car window and there's already a gun pointed at you, you have zero chance of drawing your weapon to defend yourself.

I understand that you're speaking generally about some people utter hatred of LEO, but being armed doesn't always mean you can defend yourself.

The Pharma Jerk We All Hated Last Month Still Hasnt Dropped the Price of That Drug submitted by ElementalPee to news

I complete agree with you. This is simply a byproduct of capitalism, yet people complain about socialism being so terrible.

Honestly, I can't blame the guy. He became the CEO of a failing company, had he let it fail, the drug would be available to no one.

People are calling this evil, which is purely circumstantial due to the product being sold. Capitalism can't discriminate between the service or product provided. If you want something to be available without profit being involved, it needs to be the responsibility of the public, a la socialism.

Imagine if the CEO of AMD, another soon-to-be failing company, started slashing prices of their products to "allow impoverished kids" easy access to computer gaming - shareholders would throw a fit. People are only so upset because this is a "big pharma" company. If you don't want these kinds of companies to be motivated by profit, they need to be publicly owned (by the government).

Updates Make Windows 7 and 8 Spy On You Like Windows 10 submitted by upvoat_for_cannabis to technology

Exactly. I know a few people that just look for exploits fixed on patch Tuesday so they can exploit those unpatched. Hence the less-common term "Exploit Wednesday".

Update your shit people; if you're not happy with all the updates, look over the descriptions and selectively install those that will likely impact you, but please do not disabled updates.

This is entirely untrue. You do not have to provide anything to CloudFlare to use any of their SSL offerings.

It's actually a city just west of Dallas called Irving. The Dallas morning news is just a prominent news agency in the area.
