Female cop raped in Paris submitted by EmmetMcTaggart to news

Hey, we don't now who this lady voted for in the last election. If this cop was wise enough to vote Le Pen then this news story is a tragedy.

If this quote is authentic: I think that it's really nice of Ms. Lavigne to dedicate her life to making music for the mentally disabled. They really are an underserved portion of our society who don't get the attention they should.

Could Voat be under a new coordinated attack aimed at our core principles ? submitted by Rotteuxx to whatever

Hm, I see your point. But I think you might be missing some context, I've been a pretty regular lurker of both boat and r/the-donald for quite a long time and the trumpets (we really need a good name for this latest wave of migrants) are basically just following their normal pattern of behavior. Reddit trained them to upload everything in sight that appeals to their biases without thought and they got the amount of noteriety that they did on reddit by being obnoxious and audacious. I think the way they are behaving here is just their regular MO, that said it's a particularly annoying migration wave because of the rampant flaming hypocrisy. I've seen the trumpets wail constantly about being unfairly branded as racist by the left, I will say that the culture of that subreddit changed a lot over the last year. For one thing they used to throw the word cuckservative around like it was their favorite four letter word, I haven't seen it over there in ages. I'd hypothesize that r/the_donald probably became heavily populated with the very cuckservatives that it once lambasted. They adopted some of the obnoxiousness, but not the deeply ingrained understanding that cowtowing to racism narratives is a loses game.

Tl;dr, I don't think there is any conspiracy here, just the fairy predictable culture shock of two different Internet cultures colliding.

Not only restrict users to only mod 10 subverses, but extend that to unique IP address. submitted by ZOAS to ideasforvoat

So here's my thinking on this topic. If there is going to be an IP restriction it should be active instead of passive. On the backend/administration end have a tool/script who have will flag IP's from which many moderation are coming frim if it appears to be a problem the admits can then investigate...

We've already got options to sort by top/new I think another button next to that which would then sub-prioritize by conversations would work. I hadn't thought of being able to click an button onext individual comments to threads to switch have them to conversation threading. that might actually...

Why should any user be allowed to browse through my comment history? submitted by iconate to ideasforvoat

synthesizerToady 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I have to kind of disagree with this. I think that making comment histories open does encourage people to go through the comment history of the person that they are disagreeing with so that they can dig for an Ad Hominem. I think that I could compromise would be some sort of solution by which when...
