I'm a former "powermod" who resigned from some of the biggest communities during the blackout, worked with Victoria when I was an IAMA mod, and spent 5 years working in the inner mod circles. AMA submitted by solidwhetstone to MeanwhileOnReddit

I don't trust Yishan. I also don't trust that Yishan has the whole story. Remember that he didn't work at reddit when much of the Ellen Pao stuff happened, so he didn't get to see that from the inside- but you can tell that he spends a lot of time talking to her. So of COURSE she's going to paint herself as a saint to him and then he's going to theorize about how things went down. Yes, he was in contact with the board members so he knows a lot about that situation. But let me say this- even if it's true that Pao was the one 'fighting off' the board from shutting down the distasteful subreddits, she wasn't good enough of a problem solver to deal with them in some other way. It's clear that spez is figuring out a way to solve this that she couldn't figure out. No matter how you slice it though- you have a board that wants reddit to make money and has no scruples pushing agendas- so it's not a matter of the reddit CEO doing the right thing, but appeasing the board and doing as much of the wrong thing as they have to.

EDIT: I rabbit trailed a bit. I didn't like Yishan when he was CEO, and I still don't trust him.

I'm mostly a lurker now. I submitted a couple of text posts in the past 2 weeks but I think my submission days are pretty much over. I think I'm a bit morbidly fascinated to watch and see what will happen to reddit.

Great question actually. I really enjoyed building communities. It's fun. It means you help others share their content and have a voice. It's kind of the same reason you'd tend a garden or volunteer. Having a place to share content makes people's lives better, so it feels good doing it.

There must be a reason why the media is making up all of this shit about Trump, I wasn't planning on voting Trump a few months ago either submitted by Grunge to whatever

Yeah I don't think it's just the elite that are scared of Trump. The rest of the world and a good chunk of the US is terrified of just how much permanent damage he could do as president. Remember that Back to the Future II's Biff was based on Trump.

Happy to answer any questions you may have here in the comments. To kick it off, we are currently building a free prologue that we'll release to generate interest in the following 13 chapters. We have scenes built but they are not yet show worthy. So please enjoy lots of concept art and music!
