I never liked Apple products anyway. They are overpriced, and lack functionality provided by other hardware manufacturers. Now, I have another reason not to buy their products.

I don't know about this. I think that it should depend upon whether or not anyone would have been harmed by the actual fraud. If there is a person who would be going to jail, or receiving some other penalty, then I suppose that this would be fair. If not, then there should obviously still be some penalty, and perhaps some counseling, but the penalty for a hate crime seems pretty stiff if there wasn't a specific person that was harmed by the hoax.
