[Question] Will there be a mass migration from Windows to Linux ? submitted by fuckthisshitagain to technology

Libreoffice has more features than office, don't like it? Use OpenOffice - also free.

Photoshop? LoL. Gimp is superior and free.

iTunes? Maybe you should just send all the information you can to Apple in a nice sealed envelope. Regardless - Audacious or Mixxx plays music too.

3D Studio - FreeCAD, LibreCAD, Blender.

And if by this time you haven't realised that all the programs mentioned above are 100% free and maintained by people who are passionate about what they develop, then I suppose you should just pay for your software.

If you want to be a user, install Linux. If you want to be used, install Windows or any Apple OS. Perhaps you will find my tone too aggressive, but think carefully about the last time you felt passionate enough about an Operating System to stand up for it.

If you feel that way about Windows, please prove me wrong.

PS - What you did in the preceding comment is not standing up for anything.

You weigh 50kg? How? I'm nearing the lower end of the BMI and I still clock in at 70kg (1.85m)

Good point, hadn't considered females. Thought this place was inhabited by disenfranchised white men.

High horse, tjom, let us not go there. This is simple logic.

  • Look at your phone, it is powered by linux.
  • Look at your smart tv, it is powered by linux.
  • Look at Formula One cars, wanna guess what OS they use?
  • Look at planes, trains, driverless cars, drones, spaceships, telescopes, Hadron Colliders.
  • Look at your partner, soon half of their brain will be powered by linux. - Unless you would rather have Apple in your head.

But I guess you have to retain value for a degree you paid too much money for somehow, perhaps fighting people who believe in freedom is the only way.

There is no easy way to a great life, but with a little bit of hard work and less bitching, you can be on a great way to an easy life.
