If Ellen Pao resigned tomorrow and her policies were reversed, would you go back to Reddit? submitted by chmod to AskVoat

You nailed it with the neighborhood analogy. With most neighborhoods, the system and general purpose is the same but the atmosphere, culture and people vary, making this new home a breath of fresh air.

What are some reddit-ims or memes you really hope don't get carried over to here? Mine is "banana for scale" submitted by CptnCrunch to AskVoat

Yes, I'm sure there are but it appears none have really taken off yet. Please feel free to help get this one going! Thanks for your post.

What would you recommend for a 1,500 budget jazz/rock set? I like smaller, low placed toms and an ergonomic setup submitted by VanGoghingSomewhere to Drumming

Although I did play jazz in school during my earlier years, I wouldn't qualify as an expert on jazz hardware, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt!

The first thing i'll say is that jazz has more to do with the cymbals than the drums. Make sure you test each and every cymbal you are thinking about grabbing, before you purchase. But as for the shells...

For that budget, you have a few options. My first suggestion would be to look into the DW performance kit. I haven't sat down at this kit for any length of time, but it is there entry level series and appears to have solid quality, similar to what you might find with their higher end kits like the collectors editions. Another kit I've hear some people talking about lately is the Sonor Bop series, targeted at Jazz drummers for under a grand!
