Car breakdowns reach record high despite boost in auto technology submitted by roznak to technology

I agree, but this article is about drained batteries for keyfobs and the lack of spare tyre/maintenance, which is just statistics about the lack of knowledge of the car owners or just plain stupidity. If you have a thing that costs more than your yearly salary why can't you take care of it? Just read the manual, or on the internet there are unlimited sources for learning about taking care of your car.

People running out of fuel is really a problem? Seriously? And they argue about "range anxiety" when we talk about electric cars having a lower range than ICEs. You have a fucking fuel indicator on the dashboard. The only time I remember we ran out of fuel was on the highway, but he had 5 litres of petrol in a spare tank in the trunk and we know that it will be enough to get is to the next petrol station.

About making cars hard to fix. Decades ago many cars had a tool set provided by the manufacturer so you could fix your car yourself. With all the electronic stuff in today's cars this is getting trickier, but you can't expect all car owners to be programmers or electricians so they can fix those kind of problems. So I think people should learn about basic maintenance and how to take car of their vehicles.

The more topping, the better, so salami, ham, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, olives tons of cheese and anything that could be put on pizza. However a great margherita can take the win in certain situations.

Usually corn flakes with milk - and a bit of sugar, home-made Frosties yay -, or oatmeal with sugar, cocoa, cinnamon, or Nutella. When I don't feel like eating in the morning, I'll just go with a cup of tea or very rarely, coffee with a lot of sugar.

Elon Musk unveils Solar Roof by SolarCity submitted by doginventer to technology

ryyka 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

He said in a Q&A, that when he meant, the costs will be lower, than conventional roofing, it was with installation included. I'm not sure whether it's a complete installation, so connecting the wiring, batteries etc. or just putting the tiles in place. We"ll see.

It doesn't include batteries, that's certain. So my best guess would be that by installation, Elon means actually putting the tiles in place and wiring them up with the electric system of your house, assuming you have a home battery. I wonder whether all tiles need individual connectors and wiring or a few could be just put together and they connect electronically the same way as tiles hold onto each other physically.
