How do I deal with a super liberal wife? submitted by SecularPenguinist to AskVoat

I also work in the hood. MLK Drive in South Dallas is a place none of even the black people I meet would dare visit. Driving through it every day while I spend my entire week away from my family to pay taxes for people that drink 40s on the curb all day is infuriating. It would do many liberals good to see people dumpster dive like it's nothing, every business closed except for pawn shops and liquor stores, and see people intentionally walk in front of your car to try and get hit. Every building has barbed wire around the roof and a cage with more barbed wire around the AC unit. If we put up a fence it gets stolen. It's a different world...

Trump Is Right To Highlight Apprenticeships Instead Of College submitted by gramman74 to news

People need to be willing to explore multiple options. There is no "one size fits all." College was right for me. I received a quality degree that has helped me move forward. My best friend became an electrician right out of high school Worked fine for him. He makes about the same amount as I do. My brother did a year of college, decided it wasn't for him and joined the Marines. His MO was in networking and now he works for Dell.

People need to think.

Wall Street: We just don't understand why millennials won't trust all their money to us, just like their parents did submitted by Kannibal to politics

I disagree that buying a new car is more economical. They are priced far above what I would consider their value. I have a 2011 Chevrolet that spun a main bearing after 117,000 miles while I am rebuilding a Ford Motor with 283,000 miles on it. The Ford was still running but I decided it was time to rebuild. So in my eyes $3,000 to rebuild a reliable vehicle far exceeds over spending on a new vehicle built to fail shortly after warranty.
