We are approaching 45.000 accounts submitted by Atko to announcements

Four words: u-nique con-tent. As soon as there is more content that is not on Reddit/not as visible on Reddit, the traffic will grow.

And @Atko - thank you for all the hard work!

Is anyone else disappointed to see so many downvoats on voat? submitted by TheRealTruth to AskVoat

raisin 0 points 19 points (+19|-0) ago

Yes, a pretty bad example indeed :) This wall of text is being put up in any place imaginable, and, frankly, users like myself are really tired of seeing it for no reason. It doesn't contribute to discussion, so downvoating is acceptable, IMO.

I know what you mean though, I see the downvoat button being used as a "I disagree" button more and more. Sad stuff.

Was the decline of Digg in anyway similar to what's happening at Reddit? submitted by NoBueno to AskVoat

raisin 0 points 15 points (+15|-0) ago

It's simple.

First of all, we have to collect a large enough group of voaters who produce/find content on a regular basis. Then, we take a long hose and attach it to a powerful vacuum cleaner that will pull the air in. We then swing it around and throw it in Reddit's direction. Provided our aim is true, it will fall somewhere near /r/news or /r/WritingPrompts and relatively far from places like /r/coontown. Then, as a Redditor walking by is sucked into the hose, all we have to do is pull before the said Redditor gets out.

Voila, we have successfully siphoned a Redditor. Now repeat until we have grown eight times our size.

whispers with mouth closed, not breaking eye contact with the camera

I like it, everything except for presuming the victims were somehow "innocent". They wondered into our land, they pay the price, right?

camera clicks

Now, speaking of National Geographic wondering into our territory...
