Bernie Sanders Calls for Ban on Semiautomatic Weapons submitted by idrinkamp to politics

polygontranslucent 3 points -3 points (+0|-3) ago

Personally I think the US should to lift the ban on the CDC compiling data about firearms, collect the data first, try to see where the problem is, then look for some solution.

I don't support a ban on semi automatic weapons, but we do have a problem in the US with guns.

We have to find some balance between the security of a free state and the right to keep and bear arms. As it is now with mass shootings all over the country, in schools and public places, the state is not secure, and the cause is guns in the hands of the wrong people.

I don't know what the answer is, I don't believe it's more guns, we have about 300 million guns in the US already. I don't blame mental illness, I view that as a cop out and an admission that we can't even keep guns out of the hands of crazy people
