If you ban hate speech, you missed the point of freedom of speech.

Should women who falsely accuse men of rape (and proven wrong with evidence), receive the same punishment as the accused would have for raping? submitted by Aginor to AskVoat

pacman2000 1 points 64 points (+65|-1) ago

I do think women who falsely accuse men of rape should get punished, but it shouldn't be the same punishment as you'd get for raping someone. Their punishment should be something more like fraud and conspiracy and the punishment should involve paying restitution to the accused.

However, and this is where most men who feel strongly about this issue will disagree, but the burden of proof is important here. It's not good enough to just be wrong in your accusation, it would be on the accused to prove the accuser accused the wrong person knowingly and/or believed she wasn't actually raped. If she is genuine in her belief and it is a case of mistaken identity or some other mistake she should not face a punishment. Only for deliberate false accusations. I know it's hard to prove, but so is rape so I think that's fair.

Well, then link the actual credible source and not the right wing tabloid and I'll take this bullshit seriously.

To all new Voaters on the verge of saying, "Hey, I'm all for free speech, but..." submitted by Samchay6 to whatever

I'm all for free speech, but sometimes offensive speech is so harmful to a person it should be eliminated in order to protect the person the violent words are hurting. I get you guys just want the freedom to be mean, but the wanting to be a dick doesn't trump preventing violence against vulnerable groups such as women and minorities.

You may personally not, but your ilk who are posting tabloid links like they are news certainly do. You are both skunks of the same stench so I just group you in with amalek and the others like you.
