I reserve judgment until I see the new board.

Yup and yup. I will likely watch the show when it returns. My expectations are low but maybe the show will surprise me. If Guy Martin signs on my expectations will rise. Wherever the Clarkson Gang end up I will be watching even if I have to pay for a subscription.

What I was saying is that by using gear, you are likely to use less resources should something happen. Plus your body is less likely to be damaged. Body damage really sucks by the way. Do whatever you want. I am not telling anyone to do anything. I am not superior to anyone AT ALL. You may want to argue that less gear is somehow better for you, great! Wanting a community to not look down on risky behavior that indeed does effect other motorcyclists is unreasonable in my opinion. Pretty tough to argue against being responsible and using the gear makes you less likely to need the resources I talked about. When taking a risk, why would one argue against taking the most consequence mitigating actions? You say " the effect it has on anyone else is negligible." is so much bullshit. Even if you have no one that cares for you, your decision to need medical care that would not be needed if proper gear was worn impacts many. A good citizen would realize this and try to lessen their impact to the limited resources available.

zambeezy said "I'm not arguing that using less gear is better. Not sure where you're picking up on that but I never said that nor did I imply that. Don't put words in my mouth" previously zambeezy said: " I don't wear an armored moto jacket, boots, kevlar jeans, hi-viz underwear, or ballistic handkerchief and I don't plan on doing that."
O.K. fine you did not outright say less gear was better, but you did say you wont use it. So why would you admit that gear helps when something goes wrong but choose not to use it? On top of that you want a community to not call you out on something that you apparently agree with (gear is helpful). The whole point of your post was you feel the general motorcycling blog should not call out people for posting about risky behavior. zambeezy said "This is the last time I'm going to go over this for you...it doesn't affect others. Period. Full stop. End of story. No matter how much you wish it did it simply does not." Yup, you have no impact on social services. The police, fire, ambulances etc. are there to serve you because you have insurance. Insurance apparently absolves you from personal responsibility. When other citizens see stupid behavior on the street you think it has no impact on the motorcycling community? Really? When new laws are passed and insurance rates go up because of your decision making skills, you think it does not effect others? Rather, you just don't give a shit about others, just yourself. I pay for insurance so I can do what I want. I stand my my assessment of you: Self. entitled. snowflake. You have no concept of community ("Copy that, comrade! All for the motherland!). You have no concept shared risk (it doesn't affect others. Period. Full stop. End of story.). You have no concept of personal responsibility (Not wearing ATGATT does not equal irresponsible). You are all about you and screw everyone else.
Thanks zambeezy for proving my point as to why this type of behavior is frowned upon in a general motorcycling blog even though you clearly have no concept as to why this occurs. The squid threads await your intelligent postings. This simple-minded, ignorant, and childish dim bulb has said all that he will on this subject.
No down voats to you from me. I appreciate and value discussion no matter how much I may disagree with you. Peace brother. I sincerely wish you well as a fellow of motorcyclist community.

I am making a conscious effort to not be a lurker. I am trying to contribute much more. I was not a down voter before and do not intend to be a down voater here. I echo fellow voater /u/employee432 's comment "Voat is still small so I feel like I matter here, especially with the vibrant community that upvoats you trying to get this site started."
