"Random guy says something stupid" is not national news.

If people aren't making enough money to live from their jobs, then they're going on benefits. Do you prefer paying for these people (and thus subsidizing the businesses they work for) through your tax dollars?

Most U.S. Muslims would trade Constitution for Shariah submitted by VoutGuy to politics

let_them_eat_slogans 2 points 63 points (+65|-2) ago

This headline/article is just sensationalist fearmongering. Look at the survey questions:

If shariah conflicts with the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which law should be considered supreme?

43% THE U.S. CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS

33% SHARIAH

“Shariah as interpreted by Islamic authorities is compatible with the U.S. Constitution, including freedom of speech and other rights.”

60% TOTAL AGREE

I guess a headline like "MAJORITY OF MUSLIMS FEEL THAT THEIR RELIGION IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE CONSTITUTION" doesn't fit the narrative.

And just so we're clear about how big of a problem it is, the Shariah-wanting Muslims currently make up approximately 0.001% of the US population. I'm sure we'll all be living under Islamic law any day now...

Hundreds refuse to leave train at Bicske station, with many declining food and water and vowing to go on hunger strike if they are not taken to Germany submitted by NeedleInAHaystack to news

I love how people call them "entitled." As if native Germans have done anything to earn the benefits they seek other than being born to the right parents?

Drowned Syrian migrant boys father says he blames Canada for tragedy submitted by guinness2 to news

You're kind of ignoring the whole context of this story. Canada talks a big game about helping refugees, but then something like this happens - a case where this family probably should have been helped, but basically fell through the cracks because of difficulties with the system. It's a death that should have been avoided.

And it's not like it's just self-contained, spontaneous Islamic violence they're fleeing. It's Islamic violence made possible in large part by western intervention, and it's violence in which Canada is currently actively involved. If you're going to bomb a country, you need to be willing to do something to help the people there pick up the pieces.

I don't want 100 thousand more muslims in America. What recourse do I have? submitted by 8_billion_eaters to politics

anti-Islamization

We're talking about 100,000 people, not 100 million. These people aren't anywhere close to having the power to "Islamize" anything, even if they wanted too.

Maybe spend your time worrying about real problems instead?
