Yeah just query "white people" on Bing and damn near the whole first page of results are anti-white racism. I wonder why that wasn't "horrifying" to them?

I do think Japanese are one of the exceptions of not leaning left, South Koreans, Taiwanese and Hong Kongers too. I guess it depends what we define as right and left because how I see it, socially all nations lean to the left at this point.

Sam Harris: A man needs proof to believe in god, but no proof is necessary when a man is accused of rape. submitted by EmmetMcTaggart to politics

Well those 3000 gods don't all have the same amount of evidence, that's just silly to say. Some have billions of followers, recognized traditions and holy days, artifacts, long history, ancient scriptures, prophecy etc. and some are rather scant in detail. There's some people that have faith in many gods, but Atheists have faith that there is no God or gods.

Are you trying to convince me or yourself?

The universe itself is strong evidence of a supreme being / creator deity existing. Much more so than some supernatural belief that the universe, order, life, consciousness all magically arose from absolutely nothing. If an athiest sees an ancient castle or Stonehenge they think some entity had to conceive it and build it as evidenced by it being there, yet they did not actually witness its creation or have video evidence of it. I think you confuse evidence with 100% irrefutable proof which doesn't really exist anyways since things can always be doubted or refuted. Lots of our evidence of ancient history are from manuscripts, stories, cave drawings, letters, basically witnesses of old. Also, evidence can be interpreted many ways by many people. Just because God or gods don't appear themselves to you does not mean they don't exist. I can almost guarantee if you God appeared out of nowhere in the clouds and was video recorded, but returned to heaven or something, there would be people that doubted and searching for ways to explain it away. Could have been aliens or something I'd bet they say. Wouldn't settle it at all. Also with a lot of scientific studies, unless you know exactly how they were performed and understand the subject at hand to a deep level it usually comes down to a faith that those that did the work did not have a bias, aren't working off of a false premise, interpreted the evidence correctly etc. and when it comes to anything of ideological or philosophical significance the doubt and bias go through the roof. I particularly doubt people that think there's no ultimate punishment for lying and deception beyond man. I think it's good people have a fear of an omniscient power that punishes willful lying and deception.

Of course there's zero proof that we're not all living in some kind of Matrix like scenario and the "real world" is something else.

There's an inherit draw to the idea of a God or gods in humans to make sense of this universes existence, consciousness and life we experience. It's unfulfilling and nonsensical to believe it all came from absolutely nothing and means absolutely nothing beyond this natural experience.
