[PSA] Just a reminder to many of you out there. Don't forget to put a piece of tape over your webcam if it's integrated into your computer. submitted by jasenlee to Conspiracy

That must be the worst part of their job. I can hear it already...

"Shit Rob... I just cycled through the latest rolls of those on the lists and hit 3 whackers in a row. Can I please take my smoke break 10 minutes early?"

Thanks for all the hard work. I think you are going to find that all the work you've put into Voat so far (and what you continue to do) is going to pay off even more than it already has.

Start getting prepared for it now because you are about to become tech famous.

Uber driver is an employee not contractor, says California - CNET submitted by ChillyHellion to technology

jasenlee 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

If this starts to catch on (classifying workers as employees rather than contractors) it will kill Uber unless they engage in some heavy lobbying to stop it (very likely) as they have over 1 million drivers today. It will ruin their entire business model. Hell... not just them. Sidecar, Lyft and anyone else in the ridesharing business will be destroyed by this.

My super secret method of cutting down grocery costs that I'm sharing because it needs to be said submitted by Sragwaven to Frugal

I would expand this beyond just Asian grocery stores. I have a Mexican and African grocery store near me (along with a few Asian and Indian) and they are all much cheaper than the chains and I feel like many times the food quality is better.

Insider Says Reddit Plans Lawsuit Against Voat.co submitted by deleted to news

jasenlee 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

I don't believe this for a minute. Anyone could have written that email. Besides if you go back 5 years (how long that individual claims they have worked for Reddit) that would narrow the writer down to a tiny handful of people and Reddit, Inc. (the corp - not user base) could probably figure out who it was in a matter of minutes. I imagine the writer would be smarter than that if they actually did work for reddit.

v/USpolitics - A place to discuss all matter of things related to politics in the United States submitted by jasenlee to newsubverses

jasenlee 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Personally I've never cared for the name v/americanpolitics. It's not technically accurate if you are talking about US politics. American can refer to just about anyone living in the Western Hemisphere.

People easily forget that there is South America and Central America and hundreds of millions of people who live in those countries who may also correctly refer to themselves as Americans and in some cases it is a term that is used.

For the purposes of political discussion related to the United States of America I think v/USpolitics is more appropriate.
