Bestiality is obviously perverse/disgusting, and anyone caught in the act is going to get roasted in the court of public opinion.
But does it need to be criminalized? It's something I haven't really thought much about. Even if almost all of the population agrees something is disgusting, should the government go and make it illegal? My default position would be that if there is no victim, people should be able to do what they want. I don't want the government taking on the responsibility of morality police.
Of course the counter argument is that the animal is the victim, and that holds some merit. I think animal torture should be illegal, and efforts should be made to kill food animals animals humanely. But what behavior crosses the line into physical abuse? The most obvious line is something that causes unwarranted physical damage/suffering.
Just looking it up, the supreme court had ruled that penetration was illegal, and any non-penetration act was not. That seems like a reasonable position to take, as penetration could cause physical damage, where non-penetration acts seem like they would likely not physically hurt the animal.
Fucked up topic :)

You'd think that after they'd opened up 5 bald goldless heads they'd have reached the conclusion that perhaps this is an unconfirmed rumor.
Nah, maybe there'll be some in the next one.

shrug It's more than a few shekels, we've been doing it for a month and it paid more than our entire mortgage payment for space we weren't using anyways.
Everything in life has risk, and while I understand the concerns, statistically this is an anomaly. At least at this point in time, I feel very comfortable with it and would still recommend AirBNB to other people who have space they temporarily want to rent out.
We've met lots of interesting people and had opportunity to network.

I rent out my spare bedroom on AirBNB, that's disturbing.
My daughters sleep in a second bed in our room just like this story. They are young enough that they are almost always supervised however, so I don't think this could happen as easily, but the story definitely hits close to home.
If this happened at my house though, the police would be responding to a shooting not just an alleged sexual assault.

It is possible that the dog could have served a better use alive, but take into consideration the fact that 3.3 million dogs enter the US shelter system yearly. Of these, 670,000 are euthanized.
I'm not sure the situation in Italy, maybe the numbers are different. But it seems to me we have a surplus production of companion animals. Eating a stray dog seems like a better use of it then it getting euthanized.
