I'm not familiar with that comment he made, but as a godless heathen myself, I tend to tune out candidates (and anyone else) when they talk about religion. I don't really care what they believe in, so long as it doesn't affect their ability to do their job.

Yes, this is true. I lost sight in one eye at age 2 and I have no problems judging distance.
