But that's their choice to do so. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't mean you need to infringe on their right to be said asshole. That's what makes this country (the US) so great. You can be all the asshole you want to be.

I'm sorry, by specific I meant the actual law which was broken or which has been proven to have been broken by President Obama. You'll get little argument from me about Cheney, though.

The issue here is that how do you classify someone who fights for no actual government, does not wear any sort of uniform, and does not identify as a modern military force a prisoner of war?

This part is the interesting one, "...Common Article 3 was outdated and ill-suited for dealing with captured Al Qaeda and Taliban combatants..."

How do you update that? Is anyone who forms a small group and picks a fight with a government now to be considered prisoners of war when arrested or captured?
