The first and most important advice I can give you is: do your own research.

I'm a young guy and so I am finding my place in adult life, slowly getting tuned into the financial and political world. In some ways, 'waking up' as an adult after the 2008 recession has been a blessing.

One thing I have discovered, nearly all financial advice pre-2008 is wrong now. Or obsolete. I'm not sure what dark magic they did, but the precious metals markets have been stable for a long time. WWI and WWII went by without nearly a blip, but then in the decade 2001–2008 there was a huge run up, and then since 2008 all of the markets have just gone sideways. Nothing is following any previous pattern right now. Will things return to how they were pre-2001? It doesn't feel like it. Will things continue this weird sidetrack we've been doing since 2008? It seems likely for at least the near-future. But from where I stand, with massive debt in the US (and Puerto Rico) and potential collapse of Greece and maybe the Euro, I'm not sure that things are going to get better before they get a little more crazy.

Standing here in 2015 it sure feels like we're in for a wild ride in the next few years!

Microsoft Edge is faster than other browsers: up to 112 percent faster than Chrome submitted by Frank_Castle to technology

One cool trick Chrome and Firefox do is run on Windows, Mac, and Linux. I use all three OS's daily and I can tell you they both run circles around IE benchmarks on Mac and Linux ; )

I'm also not a browser fanboy, it's my job to use all of them and make sure sites work everywhere, but I can tell you until browserstack.com there was no easy way to support IE, even if you were running windows. There are just too many versions of IE and too many versions of windows that you'd have to have multiple windows computers just to get the task of IE done. And yet each of those OS's could run Chrome and Firefox just fine. That's why IE can't win the browser war.

Trudeau says Canadians, not him, want to bring in Syrian refugees submitted by Rebel_Media_FTW to Canada

I'm canadian, and part of a group of citizens who are privately sponsoring Syrian refugee families to come over and get established here. So far it's been going well!

I don't think he's lying here as long as Canadian citizens are self-funding to bring over more than the government can sponsor.

The words "more efficient EdgeHTML engine' strike fear and terror in my front-end developer heart.

What kind of support have they dropped to achieve such gains? What edge cases will we have to now add in code to every website because they cut that out of the browser?

I know standards haven't been a priority for them, they built it against the top 9000 websites by traffic online, and if it works for them it works for most users online.....who cares about any of the other websites, if they don't work they can send an email to Microsoft and maybe get support added.

I wish great things to happen with this group! submitted by Purargent to SilverBugs

I'll be in both /silverbug subs as long as both are good - but I appreciate that Voat is quieter as a site in general. Feels cozy here!
