Comparative Advantage doesn't always make sense, and it doesn't always apply.

Ricardo’s argument is premised on two faulty premises: the belief that most people love their country more than money, and will invest domestically out of the goodness of their hearts AND capital immobility. Neither of these apply in modern times. If a theory has faulty presumptions there is no good reason as to why it should be applied because whether it works or not is a roll of the dice.
