Voat Runs on PostgreSQL! submitted by PuttItOut to voatdev

@PuttItOut great to hear!! You got through that PL/SQL fast; hopefully we'll be able to help you more on the .NET Core port. If it is convenient consider asking Microsoft to extend the lower rate for a period. I notice the postgresql.sql contain GO statements that may not work well with some tools. If there is a good way to identify parts you'd like to delegate it may be helpful; the code is new to us, but some areas may be best for delegation. If anyone has tool chain recommendations it may let others assist; perhaps put the PostgreSQL DB with data in a Docker like we did for the initial go at MySQL DB. It may help spread the work load. We appreciate all you do and hope to help you.

Voat is being maliciously attacked (CHECK FOR UPDATES) submitted by PuttItOut to announcements

@PuttItout consider blocking all traffic from Vietnam for a period. Eventually perhaps a CDN like akami would be helpful. Or funtionality like behavior based adaptive rate controls could be added. Open Source options available, such as Fail2ban, DDosDeflate, Apache mod_evasive, FastNetMon, Haproxy, DDosMon, or setup an Nginx proxy. You've no doubt consider other methods as well.

Made my way back to my room from NICU and had myself a good cry- happy for the babies & sad that I couldn't be with them. Then this showed up at my door. Thank you, Voat Fam. Love you! submitted by Empress to whatever

Congratulations. To help them sleep, rocking chair, ground level electric swing, white noise - dishwasher, car ride, hair dryer. For +8 IQ breast feed; longer the better. Take lots of photos as they grow, with a digital SLR.

If it's an issue, perhaps don't store user images locally, until legal advice can be obtained; if voat only holds text it shouldn't be accountable. Perhaps take steps to move the domain as well. External images could be linked and embedded. @PuttItOut Perhaps this is already done; haven't checked the implementation.
