Please do! Alien blue is widely considered the best app made for Reddit and it was bought by Reddit then abandoned to make way for their own app. Id imagine scrolling back through that sub would also offer some excellent suggestions as the app progressed over the years

I too am going to start from scratch, using the Apple app 'swift playgrounds' to learn the basics then move onto Xcode on my mac. I've got a lot of time and intend to go full on at it.

Unfortunately, all I have to offer at the moment is enthusiasm, time and the hardware needed to do such a job. I've a solid PC background, in that I'm competent with most basic things. Been a windows user since 1996. Started today at the VERY bottom, started using swift playgrounds on the iPad. Ive got a MacBook pro with Xcode and as soon as the learning curve gets there I'm going to start creating copies of the most basic apps I can think of for training. I've got a good design eye and am quite creative. I've developed a nightclub brand that was successful and artwork for a lot of events.
This really would be a 'work from scratch' project and I'm not even sure how to even go about it.
I intend to go full steam and figure it out though.
