I also appreciate mybodygallery. I wasn't proposing we brigade it, just thought the message would be interesting to users of this site.

RANT: Is binge eating disorder their new excuse? submitted by grapefruitforever to fatpeoplehate

Having suffered from an eating disorder myself, I really understand the frustration when the term is thrown around. It seems to me that food "addiction" is a more appropriate way of looking at obesity. But then... I don't think that's an angle that will appeal to people.

I definitely see your original point, though. There's not sense in going after this forum as "glorifying obesity." It's really about reporting (albeit, self-reporting) and that creates a useful record. I guess my issue is with the "dismay" of the admin. Is it really dismaying/shocking? The US (where I live) is suffering from an obesity EPIDEMIC... come on, now. It's not just some schoolyard meanness that causes this. People are afraid and worried and they want to make their feelings known in some way. That's my take.
