I like the general idea. My concern, however, is that people will try to shotgun low-effort fluff in order to get votes, the kind of junk that you see on reddit all the time - memes, buzzfeed-esque titles, reaction GIFs, etc. Determining what's quality content shouldn't necessarily be based on up or...

Is it me, or are Voat users more politically "right" than Reddit users? submitted by smallberries to AskVoat

It's not left and right so much as it is authoritarian versus liberty. The audience here tends to be much more libertarian-minded (little 'l') than other parts of the internet, especially reddit. I think an anti-censorship, anti-mod (that is, authority) mentality is what drove a lot of people over here. So a lot of us share that even with plenty of other types coming for all sorts of other reasons.

I would humbly suggest that you take murraryrothbard's advice and focus on promoting universal values rather than fairly divisive race-baiting that generally ends up pushing normal people away. The ones who don't want to be associated with this kind of thing can be easily driven to the opposite extreme when they might otherwise agree with many of your views. The saying "you catch more flies with honey" seems relevant here. IDK, do what you want, it's a free country.
