Imagine if you had a delicious bowl of ice cream and then somebody took a dump in it.

Malicious licking is certainly an oxymoron.

If you love Monty Python you need to see this movie. If you don't love Monty Python, this is the one movie they made that you should still see.

The soundtrack from this movie continues to haunt me, as do many scenes such as a man with no legs singing "I have no legs" while begging for change on the subway. Few movies are as memorable or as terrifying. When I was younger I thought this was an action-adventure movie with no special effects; I know realize it is actually a horror movie, with no supernatural element needed.

There are a few epic and amazingly memorable individual scenes, but overall it is a confusing mess of non-sequitors that never coalesce into a coherent anything. I had already read the book (and loved it) and I still couldn't understand half of what was happening in the movie.
