I would like to remind everyone that this media consolidation is the direct result of DEREGULATION!
When I was a kid in the 70s and 80s, it was illegal for a single entity to own more than one media outlet in a given market. You could own only one newspaper, only one radio station, and only one TV station. This law was meant specifically to foster competition and prevent information from being consolidated. The law was repealed under Bush I. It was repealed due to an ideological resistance to REGULATIONS. The banks got deregulated around the same time, and we ended up with the Great Recession. All of this was on the heels of the billion-dollar taxpayer-funded savings and loan bailout, also the result of deregulation.
Now we have a President who is even more in favor of deregulation, and all the mewling sycophants are praising him for it. Can we please get a clue?

Fire did not "melt" steel beams. It softened them. If you'd paid attention in your high school chemistry class, you would know that a single atom or molecule has a melting point, but a mixture of substances does not. Steel is a mixture (alloy) of iron, carbon, and tin. As it heats, it softens, like candle wax. If you look at photos of the debris at Ground Zero, you'll see steel beams twisted and bent as if they were made of clay.
The way the Twin Towers were designed contributed to their collapse. Each tower was basically a hollow steel tube with another tube containing elevators running up the middle. Each floor was supported by cleats attached to these tubes. As the fires raged, the cleats and their supports softened, leading to the failure of one floor. Again, because of the buildings' design, when one floor collapsed, the weight of the building was transferred to the other floors, which were also being weakened by the burning jet fuel. A positive feedback loop then commenced, with each floor failing more quickly than the last due to the increasing stress put on them. Finally, the stress was too much for the building, and the entire structure failed.
The building in London wasn't nearly as tall/massive/heavy as the Twin Towers, and it had a more internally stable design than could withstand the stress the fire put on it. It also, from what I could tell, had a significant amount of concrete in its construction, which the Twin Towers did not.
Or, you could just be a retard and blame the Jews.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? This guy is being charged with a hate crime for comedy. Take your reality-denying bullshit elsewhere.

Net neutrality has nothing to do with competition, fucktard.
The reason there's no competition in the internet service market is due to capitalism, plain and simple. You see, the ISP owns the wire that connects you to the Internet, because that's how a free market works. You only have one wire attached to your home, so you only have one choice in ISP. It would take DA GUBMINT to step in and force that ISP to allow other service providers the use of the wire the first ISP installed, and you know that will never happen. "MINE! MINE! MINE!" says the ISP, and the consumer gets no choice.
Do you know that in areas of the US where DA GUBMINT installed their own wires and provided their own service to their citizens, the service is both faster and cheaper than the free market version? Yeah, didn't think so. Of course, you don't believe that, because DA GUBMINT is the cause of all your problems, isn't it?
