Reading a book for the 14th time; Counte of Monte Cristo submitted by noplastersaint to books

I don't find one book as one I keep going back to, but I do like to reread books by Terry Pratchett and Larry Niven. I've also reread Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy at least 10 times now.

I once started reading Count of Monte Cristo, I didn't finish though. It's a long book and I took a break then lost the copy I had. I want to pick it up again, but it's so long and I nearly exhausted myself on ASOIAF series.

I've been reading ebooks on my nook for the last 5 years now, I have a huge collection of classic literature including TCoMC. I am going to read it at some point.

Lucas wanted to wait for the technology to reach what he imagined. However it shows how impatient he was to get the story out.

Is High school necessary? submitted by Daspoots to AskVoat

It can be, it really depends on what path in life you want to take. I myself dropped out of high school twice. The first time was to enter a college program where I would get my college tuition paid for. I was removed from that program because I received a D and had poor attendance to the prerequisite class for that program. The second time I was bored. School in general was too slow for me. I aced tests that I never studied for (even projects I did last minute). Whenever I took an assessment test I placed at higher levels than what was available but couldn't qualify for scholarships with my bad grade history. I don't have a college degree, but I did get my GED a few years ago. Schooling never worked for me, it just wasn't engaging enough. Classes that were interesting were often poorly taught by teachers counting down to their retirement so when I did need the extra help it wasn't there. I do hope to go into the Navy and have them pay to train me in the field I want to make a carrier so I can get out of the retail-hell I seem to be stuck in.

Congrats! Make sure you get the job you want though and don't just take whatever's available. I've heard horror stories about people being to quick to leave and being open to ANY job only to get stuck doing something they hate with the only way to change being to wait and reenlist from the bottom up.
