There is a reason you have to wait until you're 18 to get a tattoo.

"Voat is what you get when Redditors move to a website with no moderation." submitted by Aged to MeanwhileOnReddit

And? I disagree with half the racist comments on this website, but I'm still here because I prefer imperfect free speech to perfect totalitarianism.

What really bothers me is once you know there is manipulation going on, even if the content is good, it becomes suspect. For example, right now on the front page there is:

1) A funny pic of people cosplaying characters from a Disney movie. Did it get to the front because of some manipulation / paid advertising from Disney?

2) The official trailer for Lobster made the front page. Did promoters pay for it to get manipulated to max viewing?

3) There is an "Ask Reddit" as to what the most informative YouTube channel is. Is the top comment actually what people voted as most interesting, or have deleted comments / vote manipulation sullied or tampered with what appears to be the top comment.

Once a site has lost credibility, it is impossible to take anything that site says as accurate. And that is a big problem for me. Even if I might find the content interesting, I don't like being manipulated, lied to, or used as a consumer in some paid-for marketing campaign.

Healthy retired nurse ends life because she didn't want to go any more downhill submitted by RockAndNoWater to news

You don't end your life just because you're beyond "your own peaks". And who the hell knows what her "own peaks" were. She could have written another book on cooking or painting. She could have discovered a new celestial body by gazing at the stars through binoculars.

I have known too many people who have killed themselves. It is very rarely a rational decision, unless you have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. And even then, miracles happen.

Patients whose emergency surgeries are delayed have higher risk of dying: study submitted by killer7 to science

They needed a study to prove this? In other news, people who don't get to eat are at a higher risk of starving to death.

Andrew Breitbart was Jewish.

[edit] Ron Perlman, Ben Schapiro, Ben Stein… I could go on.

The problem with this "confirmation bias" anti-Semitism is that it ignores all of the other Jews who support right wing positions. But that's what confirmation bias is all about.
