If Ellen Pao resigned tomorrow and her policies were reversed, would you go back to Reddit? submitted by chmod to AskVoat

To me, it seemed that AskReddit was nothing but "How can I improve myself/get chicks to dig me while putting in ZERO effort?" threads and various other "What's something people misunderstand about blank", and it got to the point where you could predict the top responses, because they were all the same, and it was a race to see who could post them first. For imaginary points that do nothing and the notion of the slight approval of total strangers.

So a NEET, basically.

I do think it's sad though that some people live that way. I mean, the internet is cool and all, but compared to other things in life, sitting is a chair all day staring at a screen kinda sucks.

I think my favorite thing about K-On! is how accurately the instruments are depicted. I was also stunned by the beginning of episode 1 of season two, when Yui plugs in her guitar and starts playing, it actually sounds like someone fiddling around with and then playing a Les Paul through a tiny practice amp, rather than some generic guitar tone.

What's this from?

Can't stand the repetitive bullshit of reddit anymore. So hello! submitted by UnsureSherlock to introductions

I think the easiest solution is to keep the current system of voting, but get rid of personal scoring. Threads and comments still get voted up and down, but nobody gets any points (seriously, what was the point of that in the first place?!), so theoretically, there's no reason to voatwhore. There'd still be some hive-minding though, but that's an issue that stretches much further back than Reddit.

Even then, paying attention to what's going on in 400+ subs seems like a hassle.
